My friend has a fabulous chafing dish that she received as a wedding gift last year and she has yet to use it. When I asked her why she hasn’t used it yet, she responded that she was saving it for a special occasion. I told her that was crazy! Chafing dishes are fantastic and fun, and not just for people who like to throw formal parties. Chafing dishes are great for Super bowl parties, Oscar Night parties, baby showers, and all other holiday events you might like to host. I think a stainless steel chafing dish is a must have for anyone who likes to entertain for any reason.

A stainless steel chafing dish is really quite versatile. There are recipes, like a hot crab dip, that are can completely cook in a chafing dish. Or recipes such as the ever-popular Swedish meatballs that you cook before the party then simply reheat and serve in the chafing dish. There are also the modern, hip recipes like one I found for edamame and tofu. Seriously, this is entertaining at its easiest. Your guests get warm food and you get to spend minimum time in the kitchen. It’s rare to find kitchen serveware that actually lets you enjoy your own party, so everyone should maximize the use of their chafing dishes!
